We aspire to build a model of sustainable development that can increasingly distribute the wealth generated, with a particular focus on the well-being of people, the environment and the prosperity of our region. Indeed, we believe that leading companies should be judged not only for the intrinsic quality of the products and services they offer, but also by their relations with and sense of responsibility to their local area and the environment. Sustainable development means an unprecedented opportunity in the transformation of society’s current model of production, consumption and organisation.
We present our Sustainability Report, because we believe it can stimulate us to address the environmental, social and economic challenges that societies, businesses and governments will have to face in the coming years. The Sustainability Report combines economic/financial aspects with EGS (Environmental, Social & Governance) goals, activities, results and impacts, with an emphasis on defining the contribution we can make to the achievement of the UN Agenda 2030.

According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), we are less than 12 years away from having a chance to rectify our mistakes. In this time frame, unprecedented changes will have to take place in all aspects of society, including a reduction of at least 50% in CO2 emissions. The reason why we have to zero emissions is simple. Greenhouse gases trap heat, causing the average temperature to rise on the Earth’s surface. The higher the gas, the higher the temperature rise. We all have a duty to contribute to a better progress, in which environmental sustainability, social equity and economic prosperity (strongly interconnected) become the dominant paradigm, to build a new model of development of our civilization.
Sustainable development is possible, it comes from the change that is already happening in so many people, especially in the youngest, in so many companies, in so many governments, who see the conversion of the current model of production, of consumption and society organization as an extraordinary opportunity.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 objectives contained in a major action plan on which the governments of the 193 UN member countries have agreed. The SDGs serve to set common and measurable goals that encourage everyone – governments, companies like Master Italy – to act globally to achieve them, gathering and providing a wide variety of forces, knowledge and resources. This will make it possible to build alliances that push for a more prosperous, fairer and more equitable society.
There are 8 SDGs which Master Italy is committed to contribute to this epochal change, in which the main focus’ remain: People, Prosperity and Planet.
People is the chapter of Masterability dedicated to the actions that the company puts in place for its people.
It is the natural continuation of the three-year People project in which the objective is to increase the well-being of employees and improve the corporate climate. All this is always aimed at increasing skills and personal and professional growth. Because we have always believed that “a set of machines can do the work of 300 ordinary men, but no machine can do the work of an extraordinary team!”
It is the chapter dedicated to the actions that the company is putting in place to preserve the environment in which we operate and live. These are initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact by acting both directly on production processes and on environmental policies, to support and encourage virtuous behaviour inside and outside the company walls. Being a sustainable company means constantly improving and above all facing every day the concrete commitment to safeguard our planet.
“Because the world is a beautiful place and for it is worth fighting for”.
Prosperity is a very broad concept dealing with a prosperous and healthy growth in various contexts such as economy, culture, art, environment, sustainability and human rights. Prosperity can be achieved only if men and women have the same rights and possibilities, this is the reason why Master Italy is committed to promoting equal opportunities for education, sustainability, art and nature to the local community.
“We are determined to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous and fulfilling lives and that economic, social and technological progress occurs in harmony with nature”. Prosperity – Agenda 2030
