- Can the push-button kit be used with RC motors?
- The kit was designed to control non-RC actuators that require the reversal of polarity in DC in order to function. However, if the installer is a qualified electrician, he should be able to use the same button for radio actuators as well, by means of suitable jumpers.
- Can I use both the push-button and the remote control with the same actuator?
- Yes
- How many window and door frames can I open with radio control (WICONTROL)?
- It is possible to open up to 30 window and door frames, which is the number of channels of the Radio Control.

- How many window and door frames can I open with radio control (CLOUD RADIO)?
- It is possible to open up to 30 window and door frames, which is the number of channels of the Radio Control.
- Is it possible to make the actuator work in the twin-drive mode for very large windows?
- You can do this by using the wicloud line actuators.
- Can I connect the WICLOUD in TANDEM to a home automation unit?
- Yes, by using the diagram in the WICLOUD user’s manual with connection via relay. Of course, if the home automation unit works with alternating current outputs, it will be necessary to use relays with alternating current coils and a 24VDC power supply unit that powers only the outputs of the relays connected to the WIDOUBLE controller. This type of response is also valid if we are talking about manual single WICLOUD.
- What is the width above which is advisable to apply 2 actuators?
- From 1200 mm.
- Should the output of the home automation unit or the switch be of “dead man” type?
- Yes, because even if the motor stops being powered at the end of the stroke, to ensure proper operation it is necessary that the power supply unit is cut off at the end of the stroke as well.
- Protection rating of CLOUD actuators
- The IP protection rating regulates the ability of electrical equipment to resist or not to contact with liquids, dust etc. All our actuators feature IP30, so they have no protection against liquids
- Protection rating of WICLOUD actuators
- The IP protection rating regulates the ability of electrical equipment to resist or not to contact with liquids, dust etc. All our actuators feature IP32, so they are “protected against water drops or rain falling at a maximum angle of 15° from the vertical plane”.
- WiCLOUD and CLOUD protection rating in environments with high vapor content
- Actually, the norm (IP rating) refers to water drops/jets and not moisture, although it would be more correct to call it to condensate. Humidity is always present in the air but the real problem is the condensate, which varies according to the temperature difference between the surfaces of the object itself, and also to average temperature, atmospheric pressure and, precisely, to the humidity present in the air. Another factor that determines the formation of condensate is the presence of air.
Try to think of the window of your bathroom during the coldest and humid periods, the formation of water drops on the glass is very common and depends on the fluctuation between indoor and outdoor temperature. The protection rating of the window, which can withstand water jets due to its gaskets, cannot in any way prevent this phenomenon.
The same situation applies to actuators, and the basic factors are the same. In a bathroom, the humidity (especially when taking a shower) is very high and the temperature change between the inside and outside of the actuator (which due to the peculiarity of the situation will be very sudden) would generate water drops inside, even if the device would have an IP 65. This situation worsens near the window (where the thermal insulation could be less due to shutters etc..) or in an attic, where the thermal difference is even higher.
The best solution would be to apply resin to the cards that is to immerse the card completely in a resin to remove the AIR factor that determines the formation of condensate; unfortunately, this is possible for devices such as rain sensors, but not yet for latch actuators.
Given the above, what can we do:
- We can tropicalize the electronic boards to enhance the waterproofing degree, but such protection becomes ineffective above certain levels
- Ventilate the room often and avoid installing the motors in areas where the insulation of the building is not optimal, i.e. non-insulated attics
- Prefer recessed solutions that have better protection against the humidity created (not condensate) in the air and against the thermal fluctuation of the fixing itself
- Type of push-button to use (WICLOUD)
- The connection required for these actuators is of reversed polarity type, so you can either use the kit 1120.60 that has the DEAD-MAN switch, which reverses the polarity inside, or use any DEAD-MAN up/down switch and connect two relays that reverse the polarity (it is recommended to contact a qualified electrician).
- Type of push-button to use (WICLOUD RC)
- The recommended push-button is a 3 position DEAD-MAN type, with interlocked controls to prevent the simultaneous pressing of the two directions, which could damage the actuator.
- Type of push-button to use (WICLOUD AR)
- The recommended push-button is a 3 position DEAD-MAN type, with interlocked controls to prevent the simultaneous pressing of the two directions, which could damage the actuator.
- Type of push-button to use (WICLOUD RC-LOCK)

- Do you have a circuit to interpose between the actuator and the myhome automation unit that reverses polarity upon controlling the home automation system?
- NO
- To what kind of profiles can I apply the wicloud actuators
- The wicloud cross-section has a diameter of 28mm x 28mm, therefore it is necessary to use a larger frame that can accommodate the actuator inside.
- Can I apply the actuator to wooden and PVC frames?
- Yes, it is possible, it must be used on the wing/leaf paired with the actuator art. 1121.55.
