The Master Group inaugurates a new production plant in Conversano

The Master Group inaugurates a new production plant in Conversano under a new 20-million-euro investment plan

In support of continued global growth and increased production capacity at its site in Puglia, the Conversano-based company inaugurates a new 12,000-square-metre production facility.

  • By 2030, Master forecasts a 40% growth against an investment plan of around 20 million euro
  • Investments in digital innovation, welfare and sustainability also continue, as confirmed by certifications for Gender Equality and Environmental Product Declaration for reducing the impact on the planet, as the strong focus on employee welfare persists

As a leader in the design and marketing of high-tech accessories for aluminium doors and windows, the Master Group has inaugurated a new production facility extending some 12,000 square metres, forming part of a total production area of about 70,000 square metres. Founded in 1986, the company designs and creates 94% of its production value at its Conversano site.

The new plant – falling under the investment plan for the 2021–2024 three-year period, worth around 24 million euro (or 10.5% of the entire turnover for the three-year period, up +30% compared to 2021) – was designed with the aim of boosting production capacity, guaranteeing efficient logistics and a consequent improvement in safety standards for all.

By the end of the year, the Group will have a further upturn in turnover, with over 50% coming from international markets. This, together with constant growth, is thanks also to the expansion in the Middle East, with an office in Dubai adding to the offices in Poland and the Ivory Coast, seeing a 15.5% increase in personnel over the last three years, now counting 350 people. For the next five years (Plan 2030), the Group expects growth of 40% against a new investment plan of around 20 million euro.

The new Master plant was inaugurated on Friday, 11ᵗʰ October with an institutional event titled Unconventional Ahead, dedicated to analysing the new challenges of the global economy, with the participation of: Alessandro Delli Noci – Regional Councillor for Economic Development, Pier Luigi Celli – former Director General of the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali “Guido Carli” and of Rai, as well as President of Enit from 2012 to 2014, Vito Pertosa – President of Angel Holding, Daniela Vinci – Vice-President of Federmeccanica and CEO of Masmec, Alberto Mattiello – business futurist, Daniela Caputo – Sales, Marketing & Innovation Director of Italy Manpower, and Michele Loperfido – Managing Director of the Master Group.

The inauguration of the new plant was also an opportunity to celebrate the people behind the company’s success, with a special event dedicated to the families of employees and contractors at Family Day 2024.

“The Master Group has established itself as a leader amongst manufacturers of fixture accessories within a competitive market such as that of window and door frames and façades, which in Italy alone is now worth around 8 billion euro, by setting its development strategy on a path of continuous product and process innovation, with great attention to the quality of materials and the use of advanced technologies, in full respect of the environment,” explains  Michele Loperfido, CEO and Co-founder of the Master Group. “Nonetheless, the company’s commitment to the territory remains constant, tending towards an ever more virtuous model of circular economy, through wide-reaching policies of environmental responsibility and inclusive welfare for the well-being of our extraordinary human capital.”

Indeed, the company – having been included the 2023 Great Place To Work ranking – is committed to ensuring a better work-life balance. To this end, a special programme dedicated to new mothers has been established, including a financial bonus and the possibility of using more flexible working hours and smart working methods. This is in addition to offering scholarships for the children of the most deserving employees. Master is one of the first companies in the world of doors and windows to have obtained Gender Equality Certification (UNI/PdR125:2022) and was the first company in the sector to define, way back in 2011, a methodology for calculating CO₂ emissions certified with the seal of the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, beginning a path that has led the company to holding International EPD Certification obtained for all its main product lines. Master, in seeking to represent a model of sustainable development in the field of corporate social responsibility, has drawn up a Sustainability Report since 2021, integrating into a single report the strictly economic-financial aspects with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, activities and impacts, paying attention to the contribution that it can make as an organisation in pursuit of the objectives of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
